The Deutsche Post Chair - Optimization of Distribution Networks regularly offers courses and thesis supervision in the area of decision support systems for planning tasks in logistics. These are aimed at bachelor's and master's students of business administration, economics and industrial engineering with an interest in operations research and mostly English-language courses.
In addition to the joint presentation of optimization problems in logistics with industry partners, our teaching focuses on solution methods in combinatorial optimization and operations research.
Current theses topics revolve around the design of efficient algorithms for solving tour planning problems, service network problems and problems of aisle sequence determination in order picking in warehouses. Further topics can be discussed individually.
