Computational Analytics Seminar
Content
This seminar focuses on methods from the fields of data analytics and optimization (heuristic as well as exact) that are applied to solve planning problems in production and supply chain management, logistics, and agriculture. Examples of topics are transportation planning, location planning, network optimization, districting, warehouse management, personnel scheduling, machine scheduling, vertical farming, robust optimization, constraint programming, machine learning, and big data analytics. Some of the topics are developed together with our industry partners, e.g., with Deutsche Post DHL Group. Students work on the topics individually or in small groups. The developed methods are implemented in a high-level programming language or using suitable standard software.
The successful completion of the topic includes a relevant implementation part.
