Logistics Systems Planning I
Logistics Planning aims at having the right item in the right quantity at the right time at the right place at the right cost. The main drivers of logistics system costs are the design of the logistics network, transportation, and warehouse operations. This course introduces the most important planning tasks in these fields from a quantitative viewpoint using mathematical modeling techniques and optimization methods.
After the course, the students are able to
- understand the complexity of logistics planning problems,
- model planning problems in network design, transportation and warehouse management,
- apply basic optimization methods to address the described problems.
